2 Comments Adventures, Disney, Kids, Lifestyle, Mama Loves, Uncategorized

With summer in the very near future, I took our recent Spring Break and hosted Mickey & Friends Pool Party! Living in Florida, we are lucky enough to swim just about year round and pool parties are always fun!

I was super excited (and so was my preschooler) to have been chosen to host a #DisneyKids Preschool Play Date by BSM Media and Walt Disney World Resorts this Spring!  Our box came and we were so excited to get planning!

Waiting for the Sun to Rise

No Comments Adventures

As I sit on the beach, peace and stillness fill the air. It’s before the sun has shown in the sky. No one is up and for me, I am able to relax enjoy and relish my time alone.

I don’t get much of it these days. I get up early, stay up late. Thinking about the logistics for the next day. But those who know me well, know that I am so not a good relax-er. A dose of relaxation for me can go along way. One day will last me a few months.

But today, the peace of the Ocean this early in the AM is showing me that maybe life should move a little more slowly. After all, we are only here for a short period of time, so we should take it all in while we are here, right?

Mama Loves: A Most Epic HydraFacial at the Spa Evangeline

No Comments Mama Loves, Spas, Sponsored, Tampa, Tampa Bay

Welcome to another edition of Mama Loves!

IMG_7601.JPG
I love to shout my super awesome finds in Tampa and beyond when I come across them. Sometimes, I’m invited out to give them a test drive and other times it’s just because I seriously love the place or thing that I have come across. But if this Mama loves it, chances are you might just love it too!

The other week I was invited to the Spa Evangeline to test drive a new spa facial that the spa would be offering. The HydraFacial MD has been touted all over the world by celebs and dermatologists. Being that InStyle said it was the one facial you need immediately, I was so excited to receive one and learn about why they are so amazing!

I have been to a number of spas and LOVE a good facial. I don’t do peels yet because I don’t think I need to, but a good facial to clean out the dirt and make up is much appreciated and very noticeable.

This was my first time at the Spa Evangeline. As a sister business to the famed Epicurean Hotel in South Tampa, it’s located right across the street from the world famous, Bern’s Steakhouse.

The spa is intimate and relaxing. A perfect place to treat yourself if you live in Tampa!

Mama Loves  If you visit spas often for a mani/ pedi, massage or facial, ask the staff about the Epic Membership! Every woman in Tampa needs to get in on this deal! Details below!

Some facials have their trained technician extract (sometime painfully) the dirt in my pores in order to get a deeper clean. The HydraFacial MD was quick and efficient and the MOST gentle facial I have ever received. It was only a 30 minute treatment and I was throughly impressed with the cleanliness of my skin.
Dry patches were immediately gone and my skin is glowing one week later. It was gentle and refreshing and my skin feels and looks amazing!

The technology of the HydraFacial MD used to only be available in a dermatologists’ office. Now, resorts and spas across the country will begin to offer this treatment. I was so impressed with my glowing results I’ve already signed up for an Epic Membership at Spa Evangeline, as it is now included in their monthly benefits for members.

Spas in Tampa- Spa Evangeline Epic Membership

The Spa Evangeline Epic Membership includes:

  • Seasonal Farm House Fresh-Body Polish
  • Signature facial (NOW including the option to have the HydraFacial MD- a $135 value!)
  • Epicurean Signature Massage
  • Classic Manicure and Pedicure

With additional benefits like complimentary valet parking, 20% discount of additional services, free use of pool, spa and Epicurean bicycles on day of service (M-F 10am-5pm) this entire membership is calling my name!  What an epic deal!!!

I haven’t exactly done the full math, but I DO know that this is an EPIC deal and if you live in Tampa you should run to Spa Evangeline and sign up ASAP!  With the HydraFacial alone costing $135, this is a DEAL! (Call me and let me know when you are going!)

If you are looking to beautify your skin for a special occasion and want the results to last, book your HydraFacial MD before your big day!  Or just book one because you deserve to look your best! You’ll be glowing and smiling from ear to ear. Your skin is so important. Take care of it in every way possible. I hope you’ll LOVE the HydraFacial as much as I did!
This is me immediately after with no make up on!  Needless to say, I was very impressed!

Thank you to Spa Evangeline and HydraFacial MD  for hosting me and opening up my world to this amazing facial treatment! Life changer!

Mama Loves: A Clean House

No Comments Mama Loves, Review, Tampa, Tampa Bay

This is a sponsored post! Thank you for supporting Tampa Mama!

It’s no surprise, this Mama LOVES a clean house!

Mama Loves

But…I’m busy. Shocker. I try my best to clean the house on a daily basis so that things are not piled up and my house work doesn’t burry me…literally. I do need help every once in a while, but it’s hard to find a reliable service that is as last minute as I am. Until now!

I came across a cleaning service that seemed to have read my mind! I thought it was too good to be true! When I Say Maid is a new service in the Tampa Bay area that is like Uber for a cleaning company. Sometimes things come up and I’m in need of a service on a more immediate basis. This service has really listened to their audience and developed a business around what people (like me) need.

I had the opportunity to give their new business a test drive!

We scheduled an appointment and everything was all set! They have a 52- point cleaning checklist that should be signed off on before your cleaning person leaves your home. I also really like the straight forward charges that they have laid out. It is very professional and takes much of the guessing game out of how much to pay additionally if you need your oven cleaned or your walls cleaned.

When they sent their cleaning person to my home, I did like knowing that they have all their employees background check, licensed, insured and bonded. (Running my own company, I know how important these things are and should not be over looked when your hire anyone to do work in your home!)

She got to work right away! She was extremely thorough, and the only hick up was that she was double booked that day and couldn’t finish my home in the allowed time (I have reached out to the company and was assured that this glitch has been worked out and they are no longer double booking as they were when they launched.)

But my home looked awesome.

I was definitely impressed with their professionalism and would recommend their company to those looking for a cleaning company to help with a short notice. I like that there are no hidden charges and everything is up front. They are even willing to guarantee their services with a 200% guarantee and that alone is impressive!

This Mama Loves a clean house and is excited to know that someone out there gets me and my busy schedule.

Thank you to When I Say Maid for allowing me to test drive their business and review it accordingly. All opinions are my own!

Easter Brunch is one of those meals that we look forward to all year. It’s relaxing, enjoyable with family and friends, and is always delicious.

Sorry, (Recess) Moms? No… Sorry, Florida Kids. NO RECESS FOR YOU!

No Comments Florida, Kids, Parenting, Raising Children, School

Sorry, (recess) Moms? Sorry? Really Tampa Bay Times
IMG_5115.JPG

THESE are the people you should be addressing. Kids are people too.

I’m not into politics, or so I say to myself. I say that, but I’ve started to dive more into the rules, regulations and “politics” of what it takes to get something accomplished in order for it to become a law that might better the lives of kids. My kids, other people’s kids… Don’t you want to stand up for what’s right? Isn’t that how change ACTUALLY came about in so many historical movements?

I became a part of the Recess Moms to help make a difference. These Moms were inspiring, hard working, smart and did not give up. And they still haven’t. There is always a new session on the horizon and an opportunity for change.

My kids get recess. They are among the lucky ones in Florida. But what about those that don’t!? Why do some kids benefit and others don’t. Does it have to do with money? Test scores? Bad kids? Good kids? Too much to cover in one school day? If school is the work of the child, then every child should get a break. These are sweat shops and cash cows. These kids deserve to be treated better no matter where they go to school in public.

This isn’t a laughing matter, however some of the Florida Senators this it is! Check out this video from the day the amendment to the bill is denied. Is this funny? Recess is just for kids, right? Everybody is watching you Senstors.

Instead of “Sorry Recess Moms,” you should have began your article addressing the 6 year olds, the ACTUAL ones you are letting down. They can read now, you know.
How about this:

Sorry kids of Florida. The people who are supposed to look out for your best interests, your parents, tried hard. Unfortunately, politicians who are SUPPOSED to represent your best interests – Florida Senators- have decided to vote against a measly 15 minutes in a day as you WORK for 6-7 HOURS, and will continue to be denied recess, playtime, free time and the opportunity to take a much needed break. Your parents were trying their hardest to help give you a voice so your request could be heard, but that didn’t work. Keep slaving away in the system until things can get worked out.

Hopefully by the time we get this bill passed into law, your spirit as a child and love of school will have not been broken and can be mended back together.

Sincerely,

All The People In Suits Who Have No Clue What Actually Goes On In A Classroom

PS. Your Mom did awesome and I’m sure she will try again, as Mothers always will fight for what’s best for her child.

This is how your Senators voted. Do you even know who your Senator is? If not click here. It’s very simple, if they voted N, they didn’t support the recess amendment being added to a multi-pronged Education Bill that was going to get a Floor vote. You might want to call and ask why?
