Always Remember || A Look At #PixarCoco

No Comments Disney Movies, Lifestyle

Growing up Peruvian in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, thousands of miles away from my Father’s homeland, I grew up listening to my Papi’s marachsri music, singing songs in Spanish and learning about my family through picture albums as many were thousands of miles away.

The memories of my childhood awakened the other night after watching the new Pixar’s Coco. Closing my eyes I was brought back to my childhood as the music lead me back to remembering my father, my Peruvian family and all the family that I came before me- everything that makes me who I am today.

The story of Coco follows a 12 year old boy Miguel Rivera (voiced by Anthony Gonzalez) as he travels to the Land of the Dead. A movie that depicts Mexican holiday Dia de Los Muertos and the bridge that links the living and those who are not with us, maybe physically or through distance. His Great Great Grandmother Coco is very old and beginning to forget things. However, the only way those who have gone before us can come back to visit us on Dia de Los Muertos is if someone remembers you and adds you to their alter. He finds the Grandfather he thought was his only to learn more secrets no one ever told him. Had the stories and truths been past down, he would have known more of where he truly came from and what his destiny was to be.

The movie focuses on the ancestry, strength of the family, forgiveness and unconditional love. It’s the love letter I wish I would have written to my father. Remembering where we cane from and those that came before us is an important piece to the puzzle of who we all are.

The gorgeously depicted afterlife insinuates that those who have gone before us are in a much better place. The Mexican folklore is beautifully told through the eye of a child who realizes the afterlife, his family and his ancestors are all pieces to the puzzle that make him who is and help him retell the stories to the next generation.

My father was there with me as I watched the movie- always in my heart, and never forgotten. It is our duty to pass along the stories, keep the memories alive and let the stories of the past live on. Thank you for the reminder, Coco.

Its Midnight. It’s dark. I’ve got one sleeping and 3 on the Peoplemover. I need a coffee. My kids have had enough sugar to last them until next Halloween. But It’s the best night ever!

Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World: #VisitPandora || Tampa Mama

No Comments Disney, Family Travel, Florida, Orlando

If you are heading to Walt Disney World this summer, you’ll want to really make sure you are up to speed on the My Disney Experience App and ALL that it offers.  Like possibly never having to wait in line again.

This week, the VIPs, Bloggers and other members of the media are in town for the #VisitPandora experience at Animal Kingdom. Released this week is a new feature found INSIDE the My Disney Experience App that allows you to order from a restaurant and then place that order once you are there, find a seat and then pick up your food. I KNOW, RIGHT?!?

It’s is currently only available at certain restaurants, but to me, this might be a game changer for the way we do food when at the Parks. Watch the video and let me know in the comments below what you thought of the feature if you have or will use this!

Hope you have a magical day at the Walt Disney World!

I’ve been blogging for a while now and I also am addicted to reading blogs! Especially about movies! And in the past year, I have been fortunate to have seen some very cool movies before they hit theaters.

I had an AWESOME opportunity to see GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2 a few days before everyone else, but let me tell you…when I told my son we had media passes, he lost it! I have also been reading about all the cast insights and more from a few lucky blogger friends of mine who were picked to be red carpet bloggers at the premier! They got to interview the cast and I just couldn’t stop reading! Check out my friend, Vera’s blog, Lady and The Blog, where she dishes with the whole cast and more! So jealous and so excited to see the movie!

We had just seen Guardians of the Galaxy, for the 100th time, last week on our weekly Friday night family movie night! I got ambitious and made these to get the kids more excited to see the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2 on May 5th:

They were delicious by the way. And totally earned me some cool Mom points too!

And then we saw the movie…

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

OMG! I just can’t spoil it. It would be so unfair. But let me tell you….I laughed, I cried, and all I wanted to do was hug that Baby Groot! It was far beyond what I was was expecting and I was expecting some great things from this movie! The music is epic and tells so much of the story just as it did in the first movie. Dive deeper into the characters and where they came from and how much they mean to each other. And yes, there are even better scenes than the epic dance off with Peter Quill or the dancing Baby Groot to the Jackson 5 from the first movie. The Star Lord will return!

So… now, I have officially hopped on the bandwagon of super galactic fan and will be going out to buy all the things “Groot” and more! Thankfully, there is a ton of super fun toys for me to by my kids (and I promise I will only play with them while they are at school) and my friend Vera, from Lady and the Blog, has an amazing toy guide already done here, so no need for me to recreate the wheel! Check it out here so you’ll know what to buy! But the first thing I am buying is the soundtrack.

And I hope you go see the movie. Like opening day. May 5th. Get your tickers now. Like right now. And bring some tissues. You’ll need those too.

Make sure to follow along with GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2 on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook!

I was invited as a member of the media to a press screening of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.2 for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

There are a few things that I look forward to you when the weather starts to turn from cold to beautiful. And the skies church start to turn from gray to blue. I love opening day of baseball, I love watching the masters, but to me the first signs of spring happen when I visit The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. For the past 24 years this festival has taken blue skies, beautiful flowers and endless magic and transformed Epcot into one of the most beautiful places in Florida this time of year.  And each year the event gets better and better.
