One of the best evenings spent with the Goody Goody family and GrandDad as my date to the hottest ticket in town, especially for the foodies. I was lucky to be invited to a pre-opening of the famed Goody Goody, established in 1925 in Tampa (see map below for locations back in the day) and now revived by the famed 4th generation Tampa restaurateur, Richard Gonzmart. If you’ve lived in Tampa or even visited, you are more than likely familiar with his restaurants- The Columbia and Ulele– with more plans to add more concepts to his portfolio soon.

Abby and I get a few days a week with each other. Alone and together. We do a bazillion things and we often lunch. But it’s at our lunches that I learn the most. These two are like peas + carrots. She loves him to pieces and I know the feeling is mutual. It’s amazing how much joy one little person can bring to someone else’s life. He’s the oldest and she’s the youngest. Best of friends these two.
Some of the most important life lessons come from just being around her to observe life. What she notices. What she says. How she behaves. How she loves.
I gain a new perspective from these children of mine. They are wise beyond their years. We should all just pay close attention sometimes.
Pictures only tell part of the story. They are a brief moment in time that stands still. As I scroll through the 10,000 moments I caught on my camera from our summer vacations with the kids this summer, I can’t help but smile. It’s these soft summer moments that I cherish when I think of how wonderful our time spent together. With summer over now and back to school on the horizon, I just want to stop time and go back to porch sitting, pool hopping, spring jumping and lazy summer days. These have been some of the best moments of my life and ones I hope they will look back on and remember too. These are some of my favorite soft summer moments of 2016. I already want to go back.
