What will she remember?
No ones for sure I guess.
But there are somethings I know deep down,
And I’m certain of this, more than less.
I’m certain it’s things like camping,
Overnight with friends.
Doing SWAPS and singing songs,
Until the nighttime ends.
Playing old maid and making s’mores.
Early rising in the morn,
Laughing, dancing and matching French braids.
This is where childhood memories are born.
Outside, sunshine, sweet fresh air.
Campfires, ghost stories and more today.
Being a friend to every girl,
That’s just life, the Girl Scout way.
The time we take to spend with them,
Means more than we will will know.
Because being young and having fun
Are the childhood memory seeds we sew.
Life is long and when your young,
Childhood seems like it will never end.
I hope she remembers today with a smile.
Along with those who will always be her friends.
Dedicated to the girls of my daughters Girl Scout Troop 893. May you always have fond memories of childhood and being Girl Scout sisters.
