Well! It’s official. If it is online it must be true, right? I’m running my first marathon. And it’s the Chicago Marathon! In about 20 weeks. On October 7th. Why, you ask? I’ve partnered up with my company GoGo squeeZ and their partner Action for Healthy Kids and will run as a part of Team Action For Healthy Kids! Both companies are so passionate for healthy kids and I am super excited to help raise money for their programs!
The furthest I’ve ever run was a 1/2 marathon here in Tampa. The Gasparilla Distance classic. I did some crazy challenge where I did the 5k & 8k on Saturday and then came back to run the 1/2 on Sunday. Phew! That was about 5 or 6 years ago.
Listen- I’m going to need all the help I can get. October 7th is the big day in Chicago! I thought about doing a training journal, but decided I already have an online journal and I think this will be a great place to connect with other runners for tips, track my progress and maybe inspire others.
So today is Week 1 and today is day 1. I’m following this program (honestly first program in my Google search, but looked goo!) so here’s the link? Anyone want to join me?! Come on… it’s only 26.2 miles!
